"The Ring Seller" Operetta

 

In collaboration with The Arabic Cultural Club of Ontario (ACCO), The Al-Arz Lebanese Art Group proudly presents "The Ring Seller", an operetta by the Rahbani Brothers, at 8:00 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Meadowvale Theatre, 6315 Montevideo Road, Mississauga, ON.

Set in a traditional Lebanese village, the story unfolds as the Mayor announces a troubling development involving a mysterious figure named "Rajeh." The Mayor's fabrication of this fictitious threat quickly spreads, inciting fear and choas among the villagers.

Tension rises when the Mayor's niece, "Rima", encounters "Rajeh", who insists on meeting the Mayor. The stranger "Rajeh" makes a surprising appearance at an engagement event, revealing that he has brought handcrafted jewlery. The Mayor embraces "Rajeh" as a benevolent presence, believing that his gift symbolizes love and a lifetime of happiness for the villagers.

The operetta will be performed in Lebanese, with printed scene-by-scene synopsis available in English and French.

Tickets are $78.25 balcony and $88.25 orchestra plus fees and taxes.
